Albuquerque, N.M.–– Kay Bounkeua’s campaign received the official endorsement of Nkazi Sinadile, Founder of New Mexico Women’s Global Pathways–a local nonprofit that helps girls and women receive the training and support needed to be self-sufficient economically.

The following is a statement from Nkazi Sinandile on her endorsement for Kay Bounkeua seeking to be appointed to serve in House District 19:

The time to elect a person who has the skills and ability to get various community leaders together, organize and work on issues that affect all people in New Mexico is Now. The time is ripe for the legislature to choose a leader with skills needed at the time when our State and country are going through a very hard time, when other races feel left out, and when family lives have been gravely affected by the COVID pandemic. I believe the time is now to select someone who has the necessary skills in community organizing. And that someone is Kay Bounkeua.

If appointed to represent HD19, Kay would become the first Asian American woman to serve at the Roundhouse in the NM Legislature’s history.

The Bernalillo County Commission is expected to appoint a new Representative for House District 19 on Tuesday, August 24.
